Lancashire Racing Stables
Lancashire Racing Stables (LRS) is dedicated to achieving the perfect blend of timeless values, personal service and attention to detail within a thoroughly 21st century operation. It’s a place where rural idyll converges with ambitious equine business, local melds into international and professionalism fuses with pleasure.
Timeless Values Combined With Contemporary Expectations
We all have idols - icons of sporting success that we seek to emulate. For the LRS team, Warren Place, Newmarket during the 1950s and 1960s under the guidance of legendary trainer Sir Noel Murless, is without question, the racing stable we’d most love to emulate.
Never a big yard by today’s bloated standards, Warren Place was a triumph of outstanding training, skilled horsemanship, exemplary equine care and the highest standards.
Thus, getting the best care and attention for all horses under the supervision of LRS is an absolute and non-negotiable principle. Whether one of our horses is a modest 50-rated handicapper or an equine superstar they are guaranteed Group 1 care. All the thoroughbreds at LRS are not just well-trained but also cared for with excellence and devotion.
But we also believe that as well as a great team of horsemen and women, a 21st century professional racing stable needs incisive thinking, brilliant planning and an ability to identify the best winning opportunities. We’ve got that covered too!
LRS is also an ambitious enterprise and constantly has an eye to the future by seeking to upgrade, improve and refine its operation.
Rural Bliss Meets Racing Ambition
Tucked away in a beautiful, quiet but easily accessible corner of Lancashire, LRS close to the tiny village of Barnacre, near to the picturesque market town of Garstang, LRS is the perfect place for racehorses to grow, thrive and develop and a perfect escape for their owners!
Set on the edge of the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, LRS is located in a quiet, idyllic part of rural Lancashire.
Yet, LRS is an ambitious equine business that has international aspirations for its best horses and trainer Richard Ford is the ideal man to spearhead that objective.
Professionalism and Pleasure, A Potent Mix
LRS has one objective – to make sure you not only have the best chance of success but also that you find the whole experience exhilarating, enjoyable and so fantastic that you’ll always want to be closely connected to this intoxicating sport.
The LRS team has a lifetime of experience across all spheres of racing and fully appreciate that for most people getting a stake in the sport is usually about trying to make dreams come true.
We appreciate that racing is an expensive sport but there’s also plenty of value for money to be had and we are absolutely committed to making every penny of your investment count. We make no bones about the fact that for owners this is one of big plusses of building a partnership with a small, specialist team such as ours.
