Cheery Cat recorded his 8th career sucess with a gutsy win in a 5f 161yd Apprentice Handicap at a sun drenched Bath on 5th September. The American bred 8-Y-O, well ridden by Reg Hollinshead apprentice Jack Duern, made a quick start & was sent to the front after tracking the leaders well inside the final furlong.
Owned by The Cataractonium Racing Syndicate, he is an ideal partnership horse in that he is sound, runs regularly & is equally effective on both turf & the all weather. Because the race was confined to apprentices, Cat would carry no penalty if he was to run again before 15th September.
