LRS Comment:

By the prolific sire Bertolini out of a three time winning mare, this strong seven-year-old (stable name Pug) has been given plenty of time to mature and although unplaced in his first two starts (Newcastle & Wolverhampton) was a revelation when a close third in a competitive 6 furlong Novice event at Newcastle on 24th July. Starting at odds of 250/1, Pug made all the running & looked the likely winner until being headed in the final furlong.

Given a handicap mark of 68, he picked up an injury in the race & will not be back in action until next month.
