The congratulations of everyone here at LRS goes to Accrington Stanley who last night clinched promotion to the English Football League Division One for the first time in their history courtesy of their 2 - 0 win over Yeovil Town at the Wham Stadium.

It is a tremendous achievement for one of the smallest teams in the EFL who resigned from the Football League in 1962 before being reformed six years later.

Great credit goes to everyone at the club but in particular to manager John Coleman & his long term assistant Jimmy Bell (pictured above with Onda District & work rider Nicky Stead) who recently paid us a visit as a keen follower of horse racing. Having won promotion the final aim is to go up as champions - good luck to Accy Stan for their last four games of the season!
