'ANNIE' 33/1 WINNER AT MUSSELBURGH
ANNIEMATION, our first two-year-old to run this season scored a decisive one & three quarter length victory under Jack Garritty at a sun baked Musselburgh this afternoon. Sent off at odds of 33/1, the gelded son of Acclamation was having only the second start of his career.
The Racing Post was suitably impressed with the performance saying it was 'A fair maiden auction and a winner who promises to go on to better things.' It added that ‘ANNIEMATION, beaten more than 10l when fifth of seven on debut at Chester, left that form well behind despite wandering around from the 2f pole. He was well on top at the finish and, as he looks a long way from the finished article, there should be improvement to come.’
‘Annie’ is owned by professional footballer Will Buckley & named after his daughter. He is a half-brother to recent Chantilly scorer Marboot (10 furlongs) & should therefore in time stay further than today’s trip of 7 furlongs. With horses left trailing in his wake representing such leading yards as Messrs Johnson, O’Meara, Fahey, Dalgleish & Burke, hopefully plenty of winners will come out of this contest in the weeks & months ahead.
Our recent hot run (like the weather) continues. Long may the sun continue to shine!!Back To Index
