Paul Clarkson - Director of Racing
As well as a great team of horsemen and women, a 21st century professional racing stable needs incisive thinking, brilliant planning and an ability to identify the best winning opportunities. That’s where Paul is invaluable to LRS. Having worked in the racing industry for more than 30 years, Paul is pivotal to the success of LRS. As well as masterminding developments at the Lancashire HQ, he still keeps his finger on the pulse by working for two Northern Racecourses as their Raceday Presenter (MC) at more than 70 fixtures per year.

For more than 4 decades, Paul has absorbed virtually all there is to know about the ‘racing business’ having spent his working life as Racing Secretary to trainer Jack Berry (1972 - 1975); Chairman and founder of the North West Racing Club (1980 - 1983); Racing Correspondent for BBC Radio Lancashire (1982 - 1987); Director of Northern and Provincial Thoroughbred Racing plc (1984 - 1985) and Public Relations Officer, Marketing Executive and Raceday Presenter for the Racecourse Association (1987 - 1995).
All this experience and expertise plus his extensive networks and professional contacts, as well as many years running and managing syndicates for a host of trainers and racecourses, are now being exclusively devoted to helping LRS achieve its targets and ambitions.
